Fall Inspiration!

Once Todd had to work this weekend, I headed to my parents for a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him." Ps. 62:5

Here are a few pictures of my mom's fall decorations!

Happy Fall

It is beginning to look and smell like Fall around our house.

We have my favorite Fall candle Leaves from Bath and Body Works burning.

Our Windsor Pumpkin we carved at my sister's fall pumpkin carving party!

B is for Baby!

I have already started thinking about the baby shower I am going to have for my sister Callie. She is my best friend and has been there for me through everything. I can't wait to celebrate her, Troy and sweat pea! I know I still have many months left until the shower, but I have really enjoyed looking, creating and collecting different ideas!
Here are a few pictures of the sip-n-see baby shower I hosted last year for my sweet friends Kelly and Kate. I have been looking back through these pictures to gather a few ideas!

My mom's yummy and wonderful sugar cookies!

We made the Blog!

I will be adding some of our favorite pictures of the wedding to our blog soon!

Burlap Wreath

I love burlap! I love that it is rustic yet warm and cute to decorate with. I made a burlap wreath for our front door. All you need is:
1 1/2 - 2 yards of burlap- (I got two different shades to add contrast for the flowers)
 14" foam wreath
scissors
glue gun
ruler
Cute the burlap into 2" x 16" strips.
Tie them around the foam wreath. I love how easy it is!

Make the burlap flowers.

 Love it!

Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Fall is here and there are so many wonderful things to bake/cook from pumpkin muffins to yummy stew! I enjoy baking and I love Sour Cream Coffee Cake! It is a Dutch family recipe. I remember my mother and grandmother making it. I am excited to bake it for my children one day and pass it on to them.
The recipe includes:
3/4 cup of softened butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 cups of flour
 1 /2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups of sour cream
Filling:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (I like it better without the nuts)
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Beat for 2 minutes.
Mix the baking soda and sour cream in a separate bowl.
Then alternate mixing in the flour, salt and sour cream to the butter/sugar/egg mixture.
Grease 2 loaf pans.
Make the filling. Combining the sugar, chopped nuts (if you want), brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Pour part of the batter in a pan and sprinkle 1/3 of the filling. Repeat 2 times. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
Enjoy!
