Jesse Tree

For Christmas this year we started the Jesse Tree tradition. The Jesse Tree represents the family tree of Jesus. It tells the story of God's salvation plan beginning with creation and continues thru the old testament ending with the coming Messiah. I thought it would be a wonderful and fun activity for the lil' guy to learn about the Bible at Christmas. So I headed to Hobby Lobby and Michaels to find ornaments and items to make the ornaments I needed. It took several trips but I finally found everything I needed for the 24 ornaments!

I began glueing...

painting..

and more...

finally... the ornaments were done!

I really like they way the ornaments turned out!

We also started this year the elf on the shelf, but our elf brings a Jesse Tree ornament every morning to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. Lil' guy has really enjoyed looking for the elf, opening the ornament and placing it on the Jesse Tree. We read the devotion for each ornament in the evening at dinner when daddy is home. The other night my lil' guy said "more momma" when I was done reading the devotion.  Melted my heart and was the entire reason for making this is so that my sweet son would yearn to hear the word of the Lord!

Thanksgiving 2014

We had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving at our home this year. We enjoyed watching the parade in the morning and then in the afternoon Todd's brother and his family came over for Thanksgiving meal!

#99GraceGirlsFabFifteen

This past weekend I hosted a brunch for my girlfriends from highschool! A sweet friend from highschool had the idea to get all of us girls together after 15 years! It was a wonderful time catching up with those that could make it! There were lots of laughs and reminiscing about memories from highschool! I made a little banner to celebrate us all getting together.

The eight of us that could make it to the brunch. Even though we have all had different journeys over the last 15 years, we were able to pick back up where we left off in highschool! Such a blessing to have wonderful friendships!

Those of us that were cheerleaders wanted to see if we still had it! Many laughs but...

we could still pull it off! Go Cougars!

We also had fun doing a few then & now photos!
